Shayla M. Johnson Mount

Shayla’s practice focuses on real property law, community association law, contracts, covenant enforcement and general corporate governance.

Shayla has served as general counsel and advisor to condominium and homeowner associations throughout the state of Florida and has experience in collections and covenant enforcement litigation, DBPR arbitration and pre-suit mediation proceedings, contract drafting and negotiations, bulk telecommunications contract review and negotiations, governing document review and amendments, foreclosure litigation, association meeting guidance and attendance, MRTA and discriminatory covenants review, fair housing issues and association turnover assistance.

Shayla is a regular writer and contributor to many community association blogs and journals and is a regular presenter for board members and managers on a variety of topics at trade shows and industry group meetings. Shayla is responsive, aggressive and experienced in working with community associations of all sizes and budgets to identify and implement timely and cost-effective solutions to a variety of association-related issues.

Shayla is a member of Community Associations Institute, Central Florida Chapter, a 2021-2023 Fellow of the Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar and the Young Lawyers Division of the Orange County Bar Association. She is also a board member of the Orange County Nuisance Abatement Board and the City of Orlando Civil Service Board.
